Eighteenth-century,
semi-detached Stable Cottage won an award for the best conversion of
an old building into a holiday cottage and offers a high standard of
accommodatio combining original features of exposed stone and oak beams
with all modern conveniences.
The 45-foot
spectacular indoor swimming pool complex with waterfall and sauna is
less than 200 yards away adjoining the owners' ancient manor
house. The hard tennis court is a short stroll away past a white
water garden and the Tomen
Maesmor, a mystical ancient tree circle and mound.
The River
Ceirw, shaded by majestic pines and elegant lime trees on either bank,
runs past the cottage and offers half a mile of private trout
fishing on the estate.
There
are 20 acres of parkland and
woods through which a footpath runs
to the Estate's 140-acre working farm - complete with lambs in
season!
As Stable
Cottage is but 200 yards from Beaters' Cottage along the private drive
by the river, they can both be rented for family groups and friends of
10-13 people.
Upstairs, bathroom
with bath, toilet and basin; one double bedroom, and a single bedroom
with basin.
Downstairs,
large traditional lounge with wood burner stove (an initial supply of
logs is provided); separate dining room; kitchen with breakfast bar;
hall and shower room with toilet and basin; one double bedroom overlooking
the river.
Outside, courtyard/patio
with garden furniture and barbecue area next to the river; off-road parking
for 2 cars; log and cycle shed; access to the tennis court, and footpaths
to acres of woods for country walks.
Directions :
4 miles past Corwen on the A5 heading for Betws-y-Coed. In Maerdy, turn
left opposite the Goat pub and restaurant, over the small bridge, then
turn immediately right down the back drive marked Private, parallel to
the river. About 250 yards on, take the first left and immediately pull
in to parking area on the left. The cottage is ahead of you.

TV with Freeview TV, DVD player, radio and CD player. Electricity included.
Initial supply of free logs and kindling. Night storage heating. Electric
hob and oven. Washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer.
Garden furniture and barbecue. All bedding, linen and towels included.
Baby facilities: cot, high chair etc on request (please bring linen for
cot). Please bring towels for pool. Tennis rackets/balls not provided.
Off-road parking for 2 cars. Sorry, no pets. Non-smokers only.

Miscellaneous: Private
heated (April-August inclusive) swimming pool and sauna shared with
Beaters’ Cottage. They are available (there is a charge for use
of the sauna) between 8.30-10.30am and 5.30-7.30pm (excluding Saturday
mornings). Private, year-round hard tennis court Private trout fishing
(valid licence required).
